Eye catching white maple is draped over a rigid ebonized walnut frame in The Libby side table. The contrasting colors and graduated shapes inspire a dynamic sense motion in a familiar furniture form. Each draped piece is spline mitered with contrasting walnut, and loose fit into a slot in the frame. Gravity holds them atop the sturdy frame, made with mortise and tenon joinery. There is an obvious musicality to the piece as well, which we are leaning in to, when naming the piece after Justin’s grandmother, who was an experienced organist and pianist.
